Dr Lopamudra Das Roy

Dr. Lopamudra Das Roy, cancer research professor and social entrepreneur, founded Breast Cancer Hub in 2017 with a dream to save lives at no cost to patients or families by making impactful and sustainable changes at the grassroots level and by bridging the gap between the developed and developing worlds. Breast Cancer Hub is a GuideStar Platinum Certified, top-rated 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in North Carolina, USA.

 

Dr. Das Roy has twenty-two-plus years of experience in research, teaching, and mentoring undergraduate and PhD candidates in the field of genetics and cancer. She has a PhD in genetics (molecular biology) from India, post-doctoral fellowship from Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, and an MBA from Northwestern University-Kellogg School of Management. She served at University of North Carolina, Charlotte, as research professor, was awarded grants from the Department of Defense as principal investigator for the cancer research program and National Cancer Institute and investigated targeted therapies and signaling pathways in cancer.

She is recognized as a Distinguished Cancer Scientist with high-impact publications, inventions, citations, and press releases from the American Association of Cancer Research for breakthrough work on discovering the signaling pathway between breast cancer metastasis and arthritis.

Dr. Das Roy has received many global awards, but the greatest happiness comes from bringing smiles to the families of innumerable lives she saves each day in the urban and rural areas in utmost need, who would have otherwise gone undetected. She has dedicated her life to the purpose of humanity, serving the community and patients.
